What is the MWRD?

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. It's a special district in Cook County that's purposed to help protect and improve the quality of our water (from Lake Michigan).

What do MWRD Commissioners do?

Different than the plant operators that are personally responsible for treating the water, MWRD Commissioners are responsible for writing policies to help protect the water environment, reduce floods, and improve the quality of stormwater and wastewater. They also provide financial oversight of the MWRD.

What are my qualifications?

I am an award-winning author, so I am proficient in writing and research. I am also a former LSC Chairperson. For more than a decade, I helped provide financial accountability for one of Chicago's Public Schools; approved school funding and resources; assisted in the development and maintenance of annual plans for the school in which I served. Being a member of the Green Party, I believe I can add value to the current board of commissioners as well as bring diversity and perspective to benefit Cook County residents. After all, who better than a Green to help keep the water and environment clean?

How can YOU help?

When you go to the polls, vote for me. You don't have to be a member of the Green Party to do so, either. This is a position where you get to choose THREE candidates (regardless of political affiliation); I only ask that you select me as one of your options!!! You can also help spread the word. 

Contrary to popular belief, it IS possible for a third/independent/Green Party member to get elected! Unlike the mainstream parties that have power PACs, the Greens don't accept corporate donations. So, while that may make it more difficult, it doesn't make it impossible. This is my second time running; in 2022, with limited resources, I managed to receive almost 260,000 votes.
